My dear incredibly well meaning husband Scott was never allowed to have a dog when he was young…therefore he missed out on a lot of the little things. One day he decided the furkids needed a bath. He figured what the heck, it wouldn’t take that long to do and it should be a simple enough procedure….Oh boy was he wrong!

So I sat there quietly on the couch and watched as Scott prepared the bathroom…getting the water just the right temperature…the towels out…the shampoo…he was doing such a nice job. Then came time for Rebel to join him. Now let me ask, have any of you ever watched those fishing shows on TV? You know, the ones where they are out trying to land say a big game fish? Oh yeah…it was like that! Rebel knew what was going on and became instant Jell-O…boneless….FLOP on the floor. Scott was huffing and puffing by the time he was able to half carry, half drag Rebel over to the bathroom door. For me that is where the fun really began (lol) Rebel put up an instant roadblock…both feet out in front of him and on either side of the door. As you can imagine I am by now smothering my laughter into a pillow at all the exasperated sounds Scott was making. Although I do have to give him credit for not asking for help…

After 10 minutes of struggling with this new acrobatic maneuver, he gets Rebel into the bathroom…YEAH! I hear much splashing around of the water…a few occasional curse words…and I finally decide to peek around the corner only to see both of them sitting in the tub! I really don’t know to this day who was washing whom, but in the end both were clean and so were my floors after Rebel came streaking out all wet and Scott running after him with a towel. Hey, I figure a hair dryer and some towels and my floor would be as good as new…but lets just say was not going to be an adventure that was going to be repeated any time soon…THIS is why there are professional groomers!!
