Is your dog inhaling their food?

Eating too fast can cause gastric distress, gas, bloat.....  One (economical) way to slow them down, is to put a ball in their food bowl - this forces them to slow down, as they hunt for their kibble around the ball.

You can use any medium sized ball, Kong or other toy - the more room it takes up in the bowl, the harder it will be for your dog to eat around it and the slower they will be forced to eat.  Never use small balls or other smaller objects that could get caught in your dogs throat and cause choking or worse!

There are many other options - you can purchase specially designed bowls that come with obstructions built into the bowl.  You can put very small amounts of food in their bowl at a time, rather than scooping the entire amount into their bowl.   Split feedings into multiple small meals, rather than one or two large meals.
