Several of our members have successfully used the following recipe to remove the skunk smell from their dog after they were sprayed:

1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide
1 quarter cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon dish soap (the foaming kind, like Palmolive)

Mix it all together - work mixture into the fur, making sure it gets down to the skin and let it soak for a few minutes then rinse thoroughly.  Be sure NOT to get it in their eyes.    This may bleach your pets hair, but it's better than the smell!

Make multiple batches if you need more and do NOT store leftovers for future use or make it ahead of time & store it - this is an unstable mixture and releases a oxygen gas.  If at all possible - bath your pet outside (use common sense).

For outside removal of skunk smell (driveways, house, deck....) rinse area with:
One cup liquid laundry bleach per gallon of water.  This will bleach the area treated! Do not use on pets, humans or clothing.

For your yard and grassy areas: mix 1 gallon of clear vinegar with 1 cup liquid dishwasher soap (non-foaming) in a garden sprayer and spray down the area.
